Table for Two: The Story Behind the Shot
Updated: Nov 22, 2023
Hi everyone! Welcome to the first in series of short articles that offer a little insight into the photos I’ll be releasing as NFTs on Opensea via the Polygon chain. You can see a lower resolution, watermarked image here and purchase the high resolution, non-watermarked NFT in my Travel Photographer collection. Here’s the story behind this shot:
Table for Two is a simple photograph of outdoor furniture on a balcony in Favara, Italy. But to me, it means so much more than just the idea of sharing a romantic outdoor coffee. I took this photo while on my fourth wedding anniversary trip with my wife. It is the last anniversary we celebrated before the pandemic (we’ve passed number six now). So when I look at this photo, I remember the entire weekend: wandering the streets of downtown Favara, staying at the beautiful Alba Palace Hotel, and eating at the extravagant (yet affordable) Le Traveggole.
Did I mention all of this was within walking distance of our apartment (which we also haven’t seen since before the pandemic)? We didn’t have a car yet, so we decided to take a fancy staycation in our home city.
So really, this photo reminds me of love, home, and better days to come. I hope knowing the story behind the shot helps you feel those same things when you look at the photo.
